Fr\u00e5n b\u00f6rjan var det 30 olika sorters nosh\u00f6rningar men idag finns bara fem sorter kvar. Tv\u00e5 av dom bor i Afrika, trubbnosh\u00f6rning och spetsnosh\u00f6rning. Fast det finns ocks\u00e5 tre andra arter som bor i Asien, indisknosh\u00f6rning, javanosh\u00f6rning och sumatranosh\u00f6rning. Nosh\u00f6rningarna \u00e4r hotade djurarter. Den har ett eller tv\u00e5 horn. En fullvuxen nosh\u00f6rning v\u00e4ger mellan 1000-3500kg och \u00e4r allt fr\u00e5n 2-4 m l\u00e5nga.
